We celebrate the 700. Jubilee of oldest historical roof in Czech Republic
It was 700 years ago in 1319, when the roof was erected above the choir of the Franciscan church in Eger. This is the oldest known dendrochronologically dated roof in the territory of the Czech Republic.
Historical roofs in Cheb and Hof - Cross-border tradition of carpentry Exposition in Franciscan Church from 29. May to 30.September 2019 The original and current shape of the oldest known dendrochronologically dated roof will be presented together with the valuable roofs from Hof on an exhibition. One part of this project are four talks about historical roofs in Cheb.
Carpenter Workshop on the square King George of Podebrad, which goes on from 2th to 7th September 2019, is organized as part of the opening of the European Heritage Days. The workshop will be a look at the carpenter's historical work methods: designing, preparing and editing the material - all in the city's main square. The activity of the carpenters is commented by a construction historian. The highlight of the event will be a historic topping-out ceremony on Saturday, September 7, 2019, in the presence of a broad public from Bohemia and Bavaria.
International conference and meeting of experts on historical roofs Cultural Center Svoboda from 17th. to 18th.October 2019 The unique complex of historical roofs will be presented together with the possibilities of popularizing them to different target groups.
