Farm buildings
It is understood that after the Cheb palatinate has been built the building of the older castle were utilized as farm buildings. The western wall of the palace was likely built additionally to an existing building what would explain the unusual skew course of the western wall of the palace. The other farm buildings were probably located in the western part of the castle where clay and debris were transported later.
The building adjacent to the palace at the western side burned down in 1472 a smaller, probably a residential building with an oriel was built at its place.
