Dominican Church and Monastery
The church is accessible to the public during church services only
In 1294, King Wenceslas II granted his permission to the Dominicans to build a monastery in Cheb. The monastery with the adjoining church was constructed between the years 1294 and 1296. The present-day Baroque church was erected in 1684. The original orientation of the church was changed and the entrance was moved to Kamenná Street. The construction of the monastery, which adjoins the church from the north, was completed in 1720. In 1933, the Dominican Monastery was dissolved. Over the past few years, the monastery has been serving cultural purposes and today (March 2013), new ways of utilising the building are being contemplated.
