Municipal Park – Monument 3
After the memorial to U.S. soldiers had been removed in 1951, a statue of a border guard with a dog was unveiled on the site on 17 July 1995, i.e. on the Day of the Border Guards celebrated by the Communist Regime. The original plaster statue was subsequently replaced by a stone sculpture. In spring 1990, the statue was stolen from the site over night by unknown supporters of the former regime and placed as a symbol of manifestation in front of the police building in 17. listopadu Street. Following general disgust, the statue was taken away and hidden in the yard of the border guards in Mýtina. From there it was relocated to the lapidary in the garden of the Franciscan Monastery.
