Memorial plaque – Josef Czerny
The memorial plaque with the bust of the music teacher and long-term choir-master of the Cheb’s men choir Josef Czerny (1846-1910) was unveiled on the house in which he died on 16 June 1935 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of his death. Josef Czerny, a graduate of the teacher’s institute of Cheb, became famous mostly as a collector and publisher of the folk songs of Cheb. The commemorative plaque on the house on the corner of the square and Kamenná Street was removed after 1948.
